Team UnthreadedJB releases untethered jailbreak for CDMA iPhone 4 on iOS 5.1 [Video]

Already know about the release of new untethered jailbreak and too excited about it? Well, we hate to break your excitement but you may be ignoring the odds as it’s not compatible for you. As they say, “It only works for CDMA versions of the iPhone 4, and the app only runs on Linux”. Sad news, it is. No?

UnthreadedJB, the new jailbreak, has been developed by a team also named UnthreadedJB, who were earlier thought of as the ones showing tempered stats of their actual progress. Being the first untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1, there are both good sides and the bad sides of it. The good thing is that it relieves you from the headache of connecting your device to the computer, after every reboot. They bad thing is that you’ll be at the giving end as its compatibility is bound to a strict criteria; a Linux powered computer and iPhone 4, that too with iOS 5.1, is all you need to run this.

The chances of people fulfilling that compatibility criterion are very less. For those of you living in US, you must not have upgraded your further than iOS 5.1 and must also only be using either Verizon or Sprint’s network. What can be a sigh-of-relief is that the Team UnthreadedJB claims to also have produced an untethered jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3 and iOS 6.1.4. We’ve never heard of a new jailbreak release after iOS 6.1.3 and it is safe to accept that we won’t hear of any until the official launch of iOS 7. However, if you are lucky enough to meet the UnthreadedJB requirements, then we’d suggest you to give it a try by downloading it from HERE.
