iOS isn’t friendly towards customization options or heavy control over your device but every once in a while, an app developer does find a way to get around that and this new screen recording app is an example of that.
XRec is a new entry to the App Store that allows you to recording your iPhone’s screen which isn’t usually possible, especially not without a jailbreak but XRec seems to have got through Apple’s tough reviewing process and is now available in the App Store. There’s not a whole list of features in XRec but I don’t think you’ll need many, as recording your iPhone’s screen without the need to hook it up to a computer or without even jailbreaking it is a win itself.
All you need to do is fire up XRec, tweak some Settings, choose the Orientation and then hit the Play button. For switching it off, open the app again, and tap on the Stop. As simple as that!
All the videos can be found under the Videos tab in Camera Roll. Also note that for now, XRec requires an active internet connection in order to record.
Available for $1.99 from the App Store, XRec is compatible with iPhone 3GS or later and iPod Touch 3G or later. As of now, this app is compatible with iOS 5 or later! Compatibility for iOS 7 and iPad will be added in a future update.
