iPhone 4S Untethered iOS 5.1.1 Jailbreak Confirmed To Be Working Perfectly

Great news for those waiting for an iPhone 4S untethered jailbreak. Well known iOS security guru Pod2g has tweeted earlier today that iPhone 4S untethered iOS 5.1.1 jailbreak is working flawlessly and is almost ready for public release. The iPhone 4S currently can not be jailbroken on iOS 5.1.1, not even tethered.

It has become increasingly hard to jailbreak devices such as iPhone 4S, New iPad and iPad 2 since Apple added new processors in them, bootroms of which have not been dumped as yet. A bootrom level exploit guarantees at least a tethered jailbreak, as we already know devices such as iPhone 4, iPod touch 4G can readily be jailbroken tethered whenever Apple pushes a new firmware, all thanks to the Limera1n bootrom exploit.

The case is different with these new devices. The A5 bootrom has not yet been dumped, let alone the A5X bootrom. Userland level exploits have to be found and then used for jailbreak. The problem with these exploits is that Apple can easily patch them by releasing a new software update.

Pod2g has been working on iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak for quite some time and today he has revealed that the jailbreak works perfect on iPhone 4S. This jailbreak will be compatible with New iPad, iPad 2, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch 4G and Apple TV 2G.

There's no confirmation as yet regarding release of iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak, however Pod2g has said that it could happen in the coming weeks.
