How To Enable Push Notifications On Sparrow For iPhone

Sparrow is a well known email client for Mac OS X computers. It was recently released for the iPhone. The app was updated recently however push notifications were not natively activated. Luckily now there is a way to enable push notifications on Sparrow for iPhone. This tutorial will teach you how to do just that.

There a catch though. Currently you must have a jailbreak broken iPhone to activate the aforementioned functionality. The activation is done by virtue of a jailbreak tweak that is now available for download via Cydia. The tweak is called Sparrow+.

So what does Sparrow+ jailbreak tweak for iPhone do? Well for one it enables push notifications. It is imperative for an email app to have push notifications, without that the email app is next to useless. The tweak will also make Sparrow the default email client on your iPhone, meaning that all emails will be opened in Sparrow rather than the native Mail app.

Sparrow app for iPhone itself isn't free and costs $2.99 to download from iTunes App Store. The jailbreak tweak Sparrow+ is available for free and can be downloaded from the BigBoss repository in Cydia.
