Folks at 9to5Mac unveils that Apple will release the next devices with quad-core processors. According to the source they have found a string in iOS 5.1 beta. The iOS version shows the updated core version in software  "/cores/core.3 and /cores/core.1" clearly shows the next devices will have a quad-core processor.

According to 9to5Mac:
Hidden deep inside the latest iOS 5.1 beta is updated processing-core management software that not only supports the dual core processing enabled by the A5 iPhone and iPad chip, but also quad-core processing. The references to quad-core iPhone and iPad chips come by way of a hidden panel that describes cores that are supported by iOS device hardware…

…Apple leaving references to quad-core chips in the iOS 5.1 beta is notable because iOS 5.1 is the software currently being tested against the third-generation iPad. In addition, as we previously revealed, Apple is currently testing an unreleased “iPhone 5,1″ against the iOS 5.1-beta software
Improving the processing speed has always been a part of the Apple's work. iPad 1 had Single core A4 processor, iPad 2 featured a Dual Core A5 chip so many tech enthusiasts are expecting the release of a quad-core processor in the next release. We are not so sure about the release of the next iPad 3. But according to different rumors it will be released in the next two months. However, Many sources also claim that Apple will also release a mini iPad with cheap price.
