How to jailbreak and unlock iPhone 4 / 3GS on 5.0.1 with Ultrasn0w 1.2.5 and Redsn0w 0.9.9 b9d ? Well, couple of days ago we reported you that iPhone Dev-team will release ultrasnOw 1.2.5 to unlock iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS on iOS 5.0.1 by Monday, but it looks we have early release for ultrasn0w 1.2.5.
As we told you earlier that ultraslOw 1.2.5 is only minor update to unlock the already unlockable basebands on iOS 5.0.1 for iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS.
Ultrasn0w 1.2.5 support the below basebands :
- 01.59.00
- 04.26.08
- 05.11.07
- 05.12.01
- 05.13.04
- 06.15.00
Required Downloads:
- Download Redsn0w 0.9.9 b9d for Mac / Windows
- Download iOS 5.0.1 ipsw for iPhone 4 / 3GS
- Download iTunes
To unlock iPhone 4, 3GS with ultrasnOw 1.2.5 on iOS 5.0.1 you have to know that :
You MUST jailbreak your iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS with Redsn0w or sn0wbreeze using custom ipsw firmware to preserve your old basebands to be able to unlock your iPhone with ultrasn0w 1.2.5. If you are using Gevey SIM you can follow this guide.
How to Unlock iPhone 4, 3G 5.0.1 with Ultrasn0w 1.2.5 [Tutorial]
Step 1: Connect your iDevice with your PC via USB and open Redns0w you just downloaded above.
Step 2: Start Redsn0w, press on "Extras" > "Custom IPSW" and then point Redns0w to iOS 5.0.1 ipsw firmware that you downloaded above.
Step 4: Now make sure your device is both OFF and PLUGGED IN to the computer before you click “Next”.
Step 5: Open iTunes then Restore your iPhone 4, 3GS to the Custom iOS 5.0.1 ipsw (the file name begins with NO_BB).
Step 6: Now Open Cydia > Manage > Sources > Edit > Add then write the following repo :
http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com
Step 7: After installing this repo, tab on search and search for ultrasnOw then install it.
Congratulation, now you have unlocked iPhone 4, 3GS on 5.0.1 using ultrasn0w 1.2.5.

do we have to take out the sim card?
It is asking for a SIM Card. This was not happening with sn0wbreeze as the phone comes out of this mode automatically. Does any one knows how to fix this. I dont have AT&T Sim card with me to come out of it and there is not any possibility of using Dummy Sim Card as well.
How about baseband 3.10.01?

I have done everything as mentioned in the steps, but after step 5, I am not seeing CYDIA installed. I am sure I used the NO BB version. Any advise?

not working i was on 4.1 upgrade to 5.0.1 i jailbrake modem firmware 06.15.00 the phone is jailbroken but when you go to cydia or restore you loose wifi and ultrasn0w is not workint 125 not giving the option to reboot juts gives you respring thats when you loose wifi any body have any ideas? i been searching like crazy any solution but i cant find it i have many hours trying to get this iphone 3gs working but i give up fuk this im moving to android

To those with Activation issues:
Use snowbreeze to perform a tethered jailbreak and upgrade. Also make sure you select to activate using the expert options. Snowbreeze never upgrades baseband, so you're good there...
Then use corona from within cydia to make it an untethered jailbreak.
Then install ultrasn0w.

I have an iphone 3GS with baseband 15.16.05
The jailbreak worked out well, and since i had cydia i added the source to download Ultrasnow, which i installed but nothing happened
The only difference between the pre and the post ultrasnow is that instead of No service the iphone is searching for network but it has been searching all day long so i guess it won't find anything.
Any help? PLEASE
