Jailbreak 5.0.1 untethered confirmed today by the talented Chronic Dev-team member Pod2g. He announced on his Twitter that his untethered jailbreak exploit has successfully work with iOS 5.0.1, as he tested it on his iPhone 4. For who don't know Pod2g has announced about his iOS 5 untethered jailbreak for the first time last week in the famous video that showed iOS 5 untethered jailbreak on iPod touch 4G.
According to Pod2g, now feel free to upgrade your iPhone, iPod or iPad to iOS 5.0.1. But if your iPhone rely on unlock with ultrasn0w or Gevey SIM you MUST stay away from this update.
So what's next ? Pod2g is working now on jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 / 5 untethered on iPhone 4S and iPad 2, so the question that we all ask Pod2g, When you will release iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak ? will you wait until your tests succeeded on iPhone 4S and iPad 2 or you will wait for iOS 5.1 official release which became sooner as Apple released iOS 5.1 beta 2. Please reply, Pod2g.

why stay away from it if I rely on unlock? i have 5.0.1 and I'm unlocked with gevey sim
Some indication as to how to accomplish this would be nice.
Basically you've completely left out how to do it. So a hacker managed to unlock his phone. Ok. Now what's that mean for the rest of us? How long in the past has announcements of this sort predated an actual userland solution?
I'm not being impatient I'm just saying why report on a claim as if it's a fact that somehow applies to readers?
I'm not updating anything until I know what to do once I'm updated lol.

wait...on pod2g's blog, he says he's working on the iDevices that don't have A5...so this new jailbreak won't work on iPad 2 and iPhone 4S? will we have to wait even more?

If you think there just broken promises why don't you just learn the coding language and do it for yourself. Your just like every other person on any blog you will find that is like this. One post about progress and they're complaining that their not done yet.
