Almost everyone in the jailbreak community have their attention on pod2g, the iOS hacker who has shown promising signs for an untethered jailbreak in the last few weeks.

As we have informed you earlier, he showed a demo of iOS 5 untethered jailbreak on iPod touch 3G. And if you are our regular reader , you would have also read this post which also confirmed it working on iPhone 4. But now , many more devices have been added what seems to be a fast growing list.

These are the devices on which he has completed the code for untethered jailbreak.

- iPad (First Generation)
- iPod Touch 4G
- iPod Touch 3G
- iPhone 3GS
- iPhone 4
- Apple TV

He also mentioned in his blog that he is looking to complete the testing on these devices in the upcoming days.

“iPad 1 5.0.1 untethered code is done, testing tomorrow with a friend’s device. Just to let you know my progress in real time. iPhone 3GS 5.0.1 untethered code is done. Testing tomorrow also! iPod 4G 5.0.1 untethered too ! :-D. Apple TV 2 4.43 untethered done also. Will be able to test in some days.”

However the untethered jailbreak has only been confirmed on A4-based devices. There is still no word or rumor of untethered jailbreak on A5 devices such as iPhone 4S and iPad 2.


Update : Today Pod2g has announced new progress on iOS 5.0.1 / 5.0 untethered jailbreak :

I've tested iPad 1 and it worked.
Today I hope I can test a 3Gs.

Does Pod2g need testers for 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak ?

BTW: please don't propose to be a beta tester because I'm too paranoid, fearing leaks.

What about iPhone 4S / iPad 2 untethered jailbreak on iOS 5.0.1 ?

Now the time to finalize the jailbreak for old devices, fix some stability issues and package the whole. That will take some days.

In the meanwhile, I'm starting the research for iPad 2 and 4S.I'll take you informed of my progress.
