The More You Use Siri, The Better It Will Understand You

As all of you know the most exciting and most talked about feature of the new iPhone 4S is siri. Siri on iPhone is like a personal assistant in your pocket. It lets you use your voice to send messages, schedule meetings, place phone calls, and more. Ask Siri to do things just by talking the way you talk. Siri understands what you say, knows what you mean, and even talks back.

Many users have reported that the understanding of siri has certain limits as the software is having troubles understanding different accents like native Spanish speakers speaking English. "It can be frustrating because Siri forces me to pronounce my questions over and over again and sometimes the app won't understand me at all," said Latina Sandra Ortiz, owner of an iPhone 4S in Spain. Unfortunately Latina Sandra is left disappointed.

According to an Apple Representative:
The more you use Siri, the better it will understand you. It does this by learning about your accent and other characteristics of your voice. Siri uses voice recognition algorithms to categorize your voice into one of the dialects or accents it understands. As more people use Siri and it’s exposed to more variations of a language, its overall recognition of dialects and accents will continue to improve, and Siri will work even better.
So we are expecting that the understanding of siri will improve in the near future and people will have fewer difficulties in making the software understand what they are saying.
