After a long 29 years lives deaf Sarah Churman heard her voice for the first time  thanks to a new technology after she almost lost the hope to hear her voice , but the exciting is her impression when she heard her laugh for the first time after all those years while she has relied on reading lips and, to a very limited extent, hearing aids.

Her husband didn’t lost the opportunity of recording that historical moment which proves for the world that the technology is not just for entertainment or in wars , it also return humans their life's.

she said in the comments on the video on Youtube :

I was born deaf and 8 weeks ago I received a hearing implant. This is the video of them turning it on and me hearing myself for the first time :) Edit: For those of you who have asked the implant I received was Esteem offered by Envoy Medical.

The story of the Treatment according to CENT :

In the notes to the video, Churman explained that hearing aids only help so much. Eight weeks ago, however, she was given an Esteem implant, made by Envoy Medical.

The device itself is placed behind the ear and no part of it is visible. It doesn't have a speaker or a microphone. It uses the outer part of the ear to funnel sound coming toward it and send it down the ear canal.

This implant takes vibrations and turns them into electrical signals. These are then sent to its sound processor. Then, through a small mechanical stimulus, the electrical signals are sent to your brain, so that the brain can work out what is being said.
