Hello after a hard time i got with my iphone4 to downgrade from 4.3.5 to 4.3.3, the maximum I could reach within those 8 steps was step number 7, which made my phone stuck in DFU mode and also loop stuck in ifaith at Apple logo checking, never continue after!
So the only way to get from this situation is to restore with itune to 4.3.5 ! I hope someone can help to clarify what happened with my phone.Cause i was so close to finish it!
If anyone interested i faced error 20 in step 4, the only solution that worked for me was

when the screen of iphone was "connect to Itune", press home button and switch button for around 7 second then release switch and keep home, untill it connects back to itune, now restore with pressing shift + restore , but

After error 20 is gone I got error 1600 and 1601 then after trying several solutions IREB in DFU mode was the best.

AS I mentioned up phone stuck in step 7 and could not find any solution!

I was on IOS 4.3.5 with 4.10.01 baseband.After completing all the steps and restoring with snowbreezed 4.3.3 , my iphone 4 stucks at DFU mode.. I can only take it out of DFU mode by redsn0w theetered mode.. don't know what I am doing wrong ? any help would be highly appreciated...already tried 5 times, all the same problem.. is it because of tinyumbrella ??

Also another sugestion; why are we restoring with snowbreeze VS original 4.3.3 and jailbreak afterward with jailbreakme.com ?

here's my story, my iphone is restored to 4.3.5 and i don't have the original sim card to activate it. i want to downgrade it to 4.3.3 in order to have an untethered jailbreak. what i'm doin is the following:
step 1 completed, however shouldn't i uncomment the 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com ?
when step 2 is done, i'm stuck on apple logo when the iphone restarts, even if i try to restart it again it stays stuck there (i suppose this is what step 3 is, or is it? and i'm unable to find it when i lunch tinyumbrella.
let's suppose in the jailbreak part i set to just boot tethered instead of install cydia, it boots with cydia and i can find it under tinyumbrella, i click start tss server, if i try to restore to 4.3.3 it gives me the 3194 error, this happens if i both comment/uncomment the 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
any ideas? i really need to make my iphone work, it's been almost a month now :S

i believe you have to remove "#" in the host file from Restore Files.

It should only be 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com.

Hi B52PSI, I just try to downgrade my iPad 1. And it's also stuck in step 7 like you did. I cannot save (dump) SHSH Blobs using iFaith.

I've repeat this method for several times from step 1. But each time I try, I always stuck in step 7 (saving SHSH using iFaith). My iPad just stuck in DFU mode.

If u get error 20, try to get it into pwnd dfu state. Error 1600 can be fixed with ireb. Just google, it took me some time but it worked.
I am now stuck at ifaith error... trying to redo everything for the third time.

To fix error 3194, you need SHSH blobs. The video you posted suggesting that all the errors can be fixed tells you this. So, there isn't a way past this. My thinking is you cannot downgrade with out SHSH blobs.

I got stuck in step 2, when I finish jailbreaking in the first run with redsn0w (where you would get the broken cydia icon) my iPhone 4 stays in DFU mode instead of booting normally. PLEASE HELP!

I have been unable to get past the Error 20 and 3194 Jinx.

I have read the requisite instructions and seen the video. No avail

Here is the situation:
1. I have an IPAD1 with 4.3.5 that has never been jailbroken.
2. I have the following blobs saved.
3.2.2.
4.2.1
4.2b3
3. I want to jailbreak it
4. I have been recommended 4.3.3
5. I have to downgrade to 4.3.3
6. I replaced the hosts file with this line (it was an empty file earlier) 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
7. I ran redsnow in WinXP compatibility mode and admin privileges with the 4.3.3 firmware that i downloaded from the link above. I remembered to turn it off and set it in DFU mode and not recovery mode before i ran full redsnow.
8. It ran fine and updated ramdisk/ etc etc and reached recovery mode with itunes and connect logo on the screen
9. I now ran tinyumbrella and saw my device in recovery. i left clicked it and ran TSS server
10. I stared itunes 10.4
11. I pressed shift and clicked on restore
12. My firewall is off. My symantec is turned off
13. The itunes process starts and after extracting says error 20
14. I kept everything connected and tried doing this in DFU mode and not in recovery mode. No luck

I am stuck! What do i do? I can go back to 4.3.5 all fine. help?

You have to go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc , and replace "HOST" file with the downloaded one in "Restore Files" folder

Successful! On IPAD 1 3g 4.3.5 to 4.3.3, but note that i could only make happen after i restore using a sn0wbreeze on Step 5, since i was trying with apples original one for over 5 hours and getting errors 20, 21, 1600, 1601... i was finaly able to restore back to 4.3.3 without the shsh... but note again the part that it is required to use Ifaith, saves the broken iOS instaled geting a error 37, then now having the shsh it was easy to restore to 4.3.3

after that I used sn0wbreeze custom file to restore and it worked. Now i have jailbroken 4.3.3.

Guys i made it downgrade my Iphone3Gs from 4.3.5 to 4.1.0 and jailbrake later with sn0wbreeze - V2.0.exe
I will post what i did later, but this took me many many hours to beat it...
Because i got to leave now (there is real life outhere u know...) tommorow i promise to post again the steps i followed BUT AGAIN i must say that YOU have to experiment yourself, and use all of your patience...

I managed to downgrade from 4.3.5 to 4.3.3 Jailbroken. Steps as follows:

1. You must have tiny umbrella.
2. You must have shsh blob for 4.3.3
3. download 4.3.3 ipsw from apple.
4. Launch tiny umbrella and start server. All options in advance tab must be checked except for upgrade baseband.
5. Go into DFU mode.
6. Shift restore 4.3.3 in itunes.
7. After restoration is complete, you will hit 1013 error.
8. go to tiny umbrealla and exit recovery.
9. download redmonpie and jailbreak as per instructed.
10. the pineapple logo will appear and jailbreak will start. It will hang when it is 3/4 done. Leave it as it is and wait for the device to reboot.
11. you will see the itunes cable screen. reboot again.
12. you should be able to boot up to 4.3.3.

This is how i had done it. Please do not flame me. It might not work on your device but better than there is no solution.

If you get an error 20 in step 5, make sure you are in DFU mode (blank screen, not the itunes with USB cable logo screen).

I was getting error 1601, 20 etc which wouldn't allow me to hold shift and select the 4.3.3 ipsw. I downloaded iREB r4 (For iOS 3.x.x to 4.x.x) from iH8sn0w.com, and worked this time!

If you get stuck in DFU mode go back and check only just boot tethered right now, you do not need to do steps 7 and 8

If you are getting error 1600, go into dfu mode, use ireb to put it into pwned dfu mode

After Step 2 my iPhone 3GS didn't "stop on the recovery mode" as Step 3 stated. So (after much trial and error) I:

1) Created custom ipsw with snowbreeze (using 4.3.3) but didn't restore

2) Put my phone in DFU mode

3) Opened iFaith, and selected "Use DFU Pwner"

4) Then used iTunes to restore with custom ipsw created earlier with snowbreeze

5) Success!!! Untethered Jailbroken iPhone

*I'm not sure why my phone didn't stop on restore mode as stated from Step 3 but for anyone else with the same situation this might help.

After reading comments I finally got it to work... It actually seemed like a fluke more than anything because there was no one thing that worked. I followed directions or comments and it kept messing up then finally it just booted when I used redsn0w to tether

I was able to downgrade from 4.3.5 to 4.3.3. Now everytime I turn off my iPhone it automatically goes into DFU mode and won't ever load... Only way I can get it to load is to jailbreak from tether in redsn0w. I tried like 4 different tricks of holding power and home buttons but none go any further than DFU mode. It's like its stuck in DFU mode. Anyone else have this problem?

i have sucessufully downgraded one ipad from 4.3.5 directly to snowbrezed 4.3.3.
what i made diferently from the guide was:

after step 4 - before restoring i had to use ireb4 to go into dfu mode (fixed the error 20 for me)
- then i restored to 4.3.3 jailbroked and got stuck on dfu mode
-tried redsnow and selected 4.3.3 ipsw and boot tethered for now
and it booted in 4.3.3 jailbreak

To solve error 3194, you will need the saved SHSH blobs, so this tutorial wont work anyway.

Yes it works thanks! but the procedures above need to be fixed, should follow this:
1. Restore with clean 4.3.5 with iTunes
2. Enter PWNED DFU Mode with redsn0w (this is important)
3. Run TinyUmbrella
4. Run iTunes, shift-right-click, select 4.3.3
5. When finish, your will still end up in DFU mode, don't worry, run redsn0w again, this time select just boot tethered..
6. This should take you to recovery mode
7. Open iTunes and it should show that your iPad is successfully restored and your iPad boot as normal.

I got stuck in step 5 :( I got error 20 at first but i somehow changed it into error 1600 by getting my iPhone 3GS go into DFU mode.
Then i used sn0wbreeze's custom IPSW file and for a minute, i thought the iPhone really was restoring as the sn0wbreeze logo appeared on my phone showing the restoring process thingy.
But after that, iTunes said that there was an error 37 (worst of all, the solving method aint in any of the error solving lists above!!) so it could not be restored.
What can i do to solve this error? Hope someone could help, thank you very much :)

I have been trying to jailbreak my iPod untethered but i have 4.3.5, so i have been trying to revert to 4.3.3, however i never saved my shsh blobs. And when i try to complete the jailbreak with redsnow, i point it at 4.3.4 and it just breaks and loads fine... ill keep trying, any ideas on how to fix this prob?

i dont know if this helps anyone, but under the hosts file that comes with "restore files" if you open it, the ip addresses at the bottom are annotations and therefore dont work, you have to open the host file with administrative privelidges and remove the "#" before the last three lines..

Finally got almost all the way through. Had to use iFaith 1.21 to get out of iFaith prob (byte error loop)
I managed to save 4.3.3 SHSH and build IPSW however I cannot restore it, always get the error 37.

Now that I have the SHSH saved from iFaith...now what do I do? Have can I get these SHSH into Tiny?

Thank you. However, the guide is very hard to understand.
For those who want to try, I can simplify step 1-6 as follows (for Windows):

1) Just try with any means to unblock things that stop you from flashing 4.3.3 to your iOS device or just follow these steps:
- Turn off Skype, Antivirus, and Windows firewall (to avoid error 37)
- Use iReb to put your device in pwned DFU mode (to avoid error 1600)
- Use Tinyumbrella and start TSS server (to avoid error 3XXX)

2) At this point, you are ready to flash 4.3.3. Open iTunes, it will detect your device in restore mode press shift+click restore, then select 4.3.3 and wait until iTunes try to reboot your device after flashing. At this point, iTunes will not able to kick you off from DFU mode.

Here, you already finished step 1-6 in the guide.

3) If you want to try iFaith in Step 7 then try it by press Dump SHSH blobs (i got stuck here). If you are not succesfully get SHSH blobs adn you still have faith that I iFaith can help you, just open Redsn0w, select the firmware that you are using, then select "just boot tethered right now". So, you are now with tethered 4.3.3.

I tryied to use a snowbreeze custom version and the oficial version of 4.3.3 and tryied even the iFaith and iRecovery but didn't work, iTunes keeps teling me there's the 37 unknown error. I just bought an Ipad 2 today and it came with 4.3.5 already installed when I plugged it into itunes. I tried running the steps but it didnt work, I dont really understand what to do, I got the 20 error not the one stated above and couldnt figure out what fixrecovery or ifaith did. They are a mix from the “official” steps with some others users’ steps from other site. All I can say this method is legit and worked flawlessly for me, no errors, no nothing.

1 – You have to go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc , and replace “HOST” file with the downloaded one in “Restore Files” folder

2 – Open redsn0w and jailbreak your device but you have to point to iOS 4.3.3 instead of 4.3.4.

3 – Create a custome 4.3.3 restore with sn0wbreeze 2.7.3 (i went with expert mode and didnt change any options)

4 – Enter pwned dfu mode through sn0wbreeze

5 – Load iTunes and start the restore process with your custom restore file (Shift + Restore).

One thing I did NOT do was to use Tinyumbrella to Start Tss Server. In fact, I completely skipped Tinyumbrella.

And I used iFaith to save my SHSH in the END, when the phone was already jailbroken and with 4.3.3. Don’t even know if the SHSH I saved to my hard drive is valid or whatever. All I know is that the iPhone is actually untethered jailbroken.

I have downloaded teh restore files but cannot open them. How do I open them. I am windows 7 if that means anything. I cant get past this part at all. HELP someone!

Ok i have been trying to follow this tutorial to much of my frustration i end up stuck in a DFU loop.

I dont have my shsh blobs saved, but the tutorial sais that it should be possible to downgrade back to 4.3.3

i understand the concept of shsh blobs, and why you need them.. What i dont understand is why this tutorial could bypass that?
Is this tutorial just a bad joke, or can this really be done - and if so, WHAT is the key here?

I been restoring, jailbreaking ( tethered) ran in to loads of errors ( 20 - 1600 - 1013 and 10 others and followed the steps exaclty. the problem is i cannot get past step 6: fixrecovery will not fix anything.

It simply displays some scrolling text and then the phone goes back into dfu loop :-( ( my pc is windows 7, and i have the required zlib1.dll installed- TU fix recovery seems to be exactly the same program)

I just dont understand what is the purpose of running TU if you dont have the 4.3.3 blobs?
or how i could GET the 4.3.3 blobs if im already on 4.3.5??

OK, so this tutorial works, I have done 2 I4 one with the shsh blobs saved, one without, the one without the shsh blobs gave me the stupid iTunes error 37 and got stuck in DFU mode, so I jump-started with redsn0w 0.9.8b4 in thether mode and it worked, Hope I was helpfully, please Highlight the post so more people get help.

i got error 20, 21 dan 1013 but i managed to solve that..make sure when you run the tiny umbrella, don't forget to click 'Save SHSH' so you can see the list of 'All Saved SHSHs'

So after installing the custom ispw 4.3.3 itunes told me that my ipod (4g) will reboot. but instead of rebooting mine got stuck in DFU mode(black screen right? not the itunes and usb picture) so i tried using recboot to exit from thatmode but even after 20min its still in it. anyideas on how to solve this ? and also if i go on itunes rite now it says mine needs to be restored again...

but i go to tinyumbrella and click on recovery devices and *my number* and Start TSS server is greyed out ;(

The tutorial is pretty accurate except that the device has to be first pwned with redsnow, cydia checked, and in the next step boot up in pwned mode(with redsnow) to accept firmware from iTunes.

i got an ipad2 and every thing works fine with me except Exiting Recovery Mood thing it just restsrt and go again in Recovery mood

Hi, my iPhone 4 was 4.2.1, no issues, was jailbroken. Until the internal ear piece speaker went bust. Took it to the Apple store to check, they confirmed it is a goner, replace my iPhone with the new one, since still under warranty. This one came with 4.3.5. Now I am trying to downgrade to 4.3.3 so I can Jail break again and restore my Data. All the steps here work for me with out any issue, able to image the iPhone with custom cooked sn0wbreeze IPSW. But after the image the phone stays in Pwned DFU mode, cant kick it out of it now matter what, any help would be appreciated.

HOW I GOT MY 3GS TO WORK:

Step 2: Open redsn0w and jailbreak your device, you can follow this tutorial - Click Here - but you have to point to iOS 4.3.3 instead of 4.3.4.

Step 3: Then the iPhone will stop on the recovery mode. If not, put it in recovery mode and go ahead to step 4.

Step 4: Open Tinyumbrella (can be found in "Restore Files" folder above), then click on your iPhone name at the left then press on Start Tss Server.

Step 5: Open iTunes and restore your iPhone with iOS 4.3.3 firmware (Shift + Restore) then close it. If this does not work, put the device in a pawned dfu state with IREB.

Step 6: If you get error 20, make sure sure the iPhone-screen says "connect to itunes" and hold the power + home buttons for 7 seconds, then release the power button and keep holding home until your device connects to itunes again.

Step 7: If you get error 1600 / 1601 now, open IREB and put your device in the pawned dfu state again.

Step 8: Open sn0wbreeze (can be found in "Restore Files" folder above) to create custom iOS 4.3.3 firmware (Expert, not simple) and restore with it. Done.

can STEP 2 be skipped? i don't see the point in jailbreaking the device....and then restore it with other firmware...also all i could understand from that step is that the phone stops into recovery mode(so no actual jailbreak happens)...ain't easyer just to directly put your device in recovery mode?
