BBC has released their global iPlayer app for the iPad which will allow users in certain European countries to watch BBC on their iPads. Using the global iPlayer app, iPad users who subscribe for this will have access to BBC programming straight through their tablets.
Based on the soaring success of the UK's pioneering BBC iPlayer service, the app combines technical innovation with editorial creativity to transport users to the heart of the BBC and British television and on a journey of discovery, wherever and whenever they wantFirst, this service is only being launched in western Europe's 11 countries which include Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, The Republic of Ireland, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland. For just €6.99 monthly or €49.99 annually, users will be able to access BBC programming of these genres: News Specials, Documentaries; Entertainment; Drama; Comedy; Science, Nature; Family, Kids; Music, Culture and Lifestyle on their iPads.
