Various reports claim that Apple is gearing up to launch a relatively low priced iPhone in the coming months. This iPhone may be priced as low as $350 and will be sold without a contract. On the other hand, the next-generation iPhone is due for release this September.
We just received some new information from an incredibly solid source of ours. According to our source, Apple will indeed be launching a prepaid / lower cost iPhone this year. We are told the handset will retail for no more than $350 without contract. Ready for the really interesting part? It's entirely possible that the low-cost iPhone will in fact be the iPhone 3GS.The source has also claimed that the next generation iPhone, presumably the iPhone 5 is going to be majorly redesigned and is due for release either in late August, or in September. It has previously been rumored that Apple may pushed back the new iPod models launch in September back so that it can release the next-gen iPhone. One the other hand, Apple is going to keep selling iPhone 4 units.
We'll be sure to report once we hear more scuttlebutt about the iPhone 5.
