Today, Microsoft is announcing the next big update to its Windows Phone platform. Windows Phone 7.5 which has been code named as "Mango" is being released today and promises to bring a host of new and exciting features for all Windows Phone owners.
It has previously been confirmed that Microsoft is packing Windows Phone 7.5 with over 500 new features that will be available for all compatible devices.
Why Windows Phone 7.5 "Mango" release holds much importance is because of the fact that Nokia, which is now in a billion dollar partnership with Microsoft, will use this very version of Microsoft's signature mobile platform in its very own Windows Phone devices. Nokia had decided not to release any Windows Phone device before Microsoft released Windows Phone 7.5, which now it has.
Nokia Windows Phone devices can prove to be very beneficial for Microsoft has the Finnish company will develop mid-range and economical Windows Phone devices, hence allowing a greater number of people to acquire and use them. The first Nokia Windows Phone devices are expected by the end of this year.
